DOUGLAS Scott (Letters, 10 October) suggests Two Rivers Housing's investment in new homes is complete.
I am very pleased to reassure him our work to improve the quality of affordable local housing is far from over.
Not only have we just announced we will be spending £7.6 million on building brand new properties over the next three years but we will be continuing to invest in improving our existing homes.
This year we have conducted an extensive review of the quality of our properties, our customers' satisfaction with their homes and neighbourhoods, demand and energy performance to inform our future investment and improvements.
Armed with this information we will soon be asking our tenants to tell us the improvements that are most important to them, helping us to make crucial decisions on how we invest our available funds to raise standards and improve quality for the future.
Is it having a new bathroom or a replacement kitchen, or would they prefer us to improve the energy efficiency of their home so they can save money on their household bills?
We are obviously pleased to have a current tenant satisfaction rate of 88 per cent with the quality of our homes, which puts us right at the top of the table when compared with other social landlords, but we don't take this for granted.
We know we have to keep on improving to make sure our homes meet the standards we expect and that make our customers feel happy and comfortable living in them.
If Mr Scott would like to meet to discuss his concerns in person, then I would be very happy to do so.
– Matt Hunt, Director of Asset Management and Development, Two Rivers Housing.
