REFERENCE the front page article headed '6,000 homes, is that what you want?' (October 1). This is just the sort of circumstance I have urged Tidenham Parish Council and local residents, through your letters page, to be wary of – district council riding rough-shod over the wishes of local residents in order to carry out the target diktats of the previous Government.

Once again I will point out that Tidenham Parish Council has identified the maximum number of new builds for the parish.

Mary Newton, the Forest Friend of the Earth's planning officer, is right to point out the change in planning since the change in Governemt – district councils should hold their fire with regard to the top-down dictatorship of the last government.

One other matter concerns me in all this. It would appear that if one wants to be kept up to date, informed and included in local affairs one needs to be 'on line'. May I respectfully point out that not all households have a computer facility.

There are several important items mentioned in the Review this week, including the above, where one is advised 'is available on line'.

I shall be writing to the clerk asking that she downloads a copy of the survey mentioned in order that I too, can fill it in. To those in Tidenham who care about our parish and have a compter you need to go on line to http://www.fdean.gov.uk">www.fdean.gov.uk. – Pauline E Civil, Coleford Road, Tutshill.
