ICY conditions caught motorists on the hop in and around the Forest at the weekend.

Police say they received reports of a number of accidents, some of which were attributed to dangerous road conditions. They urged motorists to be aware of black ice and to drive with extra care.

Among the incidents a bus shelter was demolished alongside the A48 at Minsterworth. The car driver was taken to hospital by escaped serious injury.

A lorry left the A40 at Churcham and hit a wall, and a car driver ended up in a ditch near Rudford. Both drivers were unhurt as was the driver of a car who ran off the road between Staunton to Redmarley.
