I WOULD like to thank all the residents who supported me in the recent Local Government Elections enabling me to continue to represent St Kingsmark ward as Conservative county and town councillor for the term of five years.

I was enormously proud to be initially elected in 2008 and it has been a privilege to represent all the residents of the ward in my first term and I pledge to continue to make every effort to again represent the interests of all to the very best of my ability for this new term.

Looking to the future there are a number of key issues within the ward that require bringing to a conclusion such as the adoption of the remaining areas of the Bayfields estate, the resolution of traffic issues in The Danes (road surfaces, traffic calming and the introduction of a 20mph speed limit), securing the future of Chepstow Hospital as a facility that serves the community and ensuring that Chepstow School receives its fair share of the £89 million made available by the previous Conservative council as soon as possible.

Other priority issues are the protection of the unique character of Chepstow through good planning decisions, protection of the green belt areas surrounding the town, attracting more high-value jobs to the area and better transport links particularly by rail.

These, among others, are objectives I am determined to see through to a successful conclusion although I am sure there are many more that will be brought to my attention.

Chepstow is a beautiful place to live and being re-elected offers me the opportunity to contribute to ensuring that it remains so and for that I thank those who voted for me yet again.
