A RESIDENT fears abuse by drivers on the mini roundabouts on a Lydney estate will end in a serious accident.
"A crash is a certainty before long. There are some people who do not have an idea about how they should approach them – and a number of drivers simply carry on as though they were not there and just drive straight over the top of them," he said.
"My fear is a child on the way to or from school or someone on a cycle is going to be injured. There are some drivers who seem to be clueless about how to use them or who has the right of way. They just plough on without any regard for other road users."
Police told the Review they would be keeping an eye on the situation.
A spokesman said the mini-roundabouts – on Lydney's Roman Park Estate – should be treated like any roundabout on a major road.
"Drivers have to give way to traffic coming from the right. The central area should on no account be mounted and if an accident resulted as a result of driver error then the party responsible would be prosecuted for driving without due care and attention," he said.
