FIVE colleagues at a builders’ merchants in Lydney have ‘braved the shave’ to raise money for a cancer charity.

Josh Winstone, Geoff Norris, James Bond, Chris Higgins and Alan Preest, of Travis Perkins, have raised more than £700 for cancer charity Macmillan.

The clippers were wielded by local mobile hairdresser Becky Williams.

It was the first time in several years that James had had his hair cut and the plaits have been donated to the Little Princess Trust, which helps children who have lost their hair through illness.

Josh had his hair and beard shaved off the day after becoming a dad.

Geoff Morris’s new look will be a surprise for his friends at the Forest Hills Golf Club in Coleford.

As well as his hair, the former club captain had the moustache he has had since he was 21 also shaved off.

He said: “I’ve had it for 42 years. They’ve never seen me at the club without a moustache and I won’t look like I do in any of the pictures.”
