A LEADING UK designer and engineer of aluminium building systems, AluK, is relocating its headquarters to Chepstow with the promise of new jobs and investment for the area.
Monmouthshire County Council’s chief executive, Paul Matthews said: “The multi-million pound invest-
ment at the Newhouse Industrial Estate follows three years of substantial growth in the UK market. I am really impressed by the AluK’s vision and values, and welcome its decision to invest in this region. It is a real coup for us and I look forward to a strong relationship.”
The new facility is at a site formerly owned by Mabey Group. AluK’s managing director, Russell Yates, said: “Our decision to come to this larger site in Chepstow is essential for our growth. It will increase assembly and production capacity, support innovations in product designs and technology, deliver essential training, showcase products and provide much-needed warehousing and office space.
“Over the past three years we have outgrown our facilities in Newport and the Newhouse site means we can now invest in new state-of-the-art manufacturing plant and create more jobs. We have offered everyone in Newport the chance to come to Newhouse and we will create new jobs as well, so it’s an exciting opportunity for us and the south Wales region.
“We will also be working closely with Monmouthshire County Council to help deliver further growth to the area.”
