I THOUGHT the idea of a democracy was that people elected representatives to do what the public want. Those elected should then employ staff to carry this out.

When the majority of the electorate want weekly rubbish collections why is the council persisting in the retrograde step of a bi-weekly 'service'? – this after Eric Pickles has offered financial help.

Here in the Forest 'alphabetical' campaigns have been very successful – there was S.O.S. to save hospitals;  HOOF to keep our forests. I wish I was young enough and fit enough to organise W.W.W.W. – we want weekly waste.

Is there someone with enough energy to get this going? I am sure it would receive massive support.
