PUPILS at Thornwell Primary School rounded off their summer term with a presentation of illustrated dictionaries from Chepstow and District Rotary Club.

Rotarian Christopher Wilson presented the specifically-designed dictionaries, which also contain pictures and diagrams, to the pupils who the school thought had tried the hardest during the year. 

Headteacher Tim Appleby thank­ed the club for their ongoing support and their encouragement of learning. 

Some 60 dictionaries are presented annually to 10 local primary schools. 

Christopher said: “The club considers that presenting the dictionaries to children in the local schools encourages a love of reading and learning in the young.”
