CHILDREN as young as 10 are risking their lives by running across the motorway between Chepstow and Rogiet.

Gwent Police have issued a warning following several reports of youngsters running across the M48.

The warning comes after a 20-year-old Rogiet man was involved in a collision while crossing the motorway.

In an alert on its Gwent Now messaging service sent out on Monday morning (May 23), the police call on parents to ensure their children are aware of the dangers of playing on the motorway.

The message reads: “There have been several reports of youths, possibly as young as 10, running across the M48 between Chepstow and Rogiet over the past week.

“If you have children, please can you ensure they are aware of the dangers of doing this and make sure it is not them playing ‘chicken’ on the M48.”
