CHILDREN are risking serious injury by poking a boar on a Cinderford estate.
Residents say police, the council and Forestry Commission have been called, but the boar is still causing mayhem on Cinderford’s Albert Road after it first arrived two weeks ago.
It has ripped up lawns and grass areas and chased children, they say.
Concerned mum Amy Smith, 25, who has two children aged five years and eight months with partner Mike Barnes, 28, said: “It’s quite a big boar and has been here for two weeks now. There have been quite a few people complaining about it,
“Police came out last week because older children poked it with a stick and it got mad and crazy, going berserk running around the estate and chasing kids.
“But it’s still here and it’s half-term now, so people are worried it might attack someone. We know it’s a female and we think it might be pregnant, so it’s going to want to protect its youngsters. It’s jumped up when I’m walking past with the pram to catch the bus to school.
“It mainly stays under a bush, but it’s torn up people’s lawns, and damaged a fence to get into someone’s garden. It frightens the children and we don’t want anyone getting hurt,” she added.
“My friend Jodie Bowkett stopped two children from kicking it and again poking it with a stick. Probably a child is going to get seriously injured if no one takes action soon.
“I know people have phoned the authorities, but no one seems to be doing anything about it. It would be much safer if someone came and took it away.”
