I WAS very interested in the photograph of Lancaut Church published in your excellent paper.

My great great grandfather lived at Lancaut in 1847. His name was Isaac Savery. He was a farm labourer and lived there for several years. He and his wife had three children, all born there.

There was also another family living there as well, Mr John and Mrs Ann Smart.

I have never been to Lancaut so it was nice to see a little of the place.
