PUPILS at a Forest school are benefitting from an upgraded library.

The learning resource centre at the Dean Academy was officially opened by Forest MP Mark Harper last Friday.

Acting headteacher Mr said: “It is called a learning resource centre because it combines traditional books from a library and lots of IT.

“It is very much state-of-the-art.

“We also have three television screens which provide continuous BBC news for us, together with updates and things that are happening around the school.

“The IT is top quality, it is a fine resource.”

Mr Harper said: “The learning centre combines traditional books and IT.

“It is a great resource and it gives me great pleasure to open it.”
