IT beggars belief that the Forest of Dean District Council should consider it fair and reasonable that shop and office staff in the main Forest towns should be required to pay for car parking yet the staff at the district council headquarters in Coleford will not be required to pay for their car parking despite the fact that this car park is also maintained from council tax receipts.
The district council quoted difficulties in finding parking spaces as a reason for the charge introduction. Where is the survey evidence of this? Have they carried out a survey or is this just the usual dreamed up suggestion to cover their
undemocratic decision- making and lack of accountability to the electorate?
Please, please, please.?Let us repeat the Stroud District Council model – scrap the cabinet system and return to a democratic council system.
