YOUNG Forest athlete Richard Davenport is in line for national honours after winning two championship titles at the Midland Counties Indoor Championships at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham.
Richard,14, son of Martin and Sue Davenport, of Dean Hall Farm House, Littledean, won gold medals at 400 and 200 metres.
In both races he produced personal best times. In the 200 metres event he clocked 23.77 seconds and in the 400 metres, 53.79.
The times qualify Richard for English School events and under coach David Farrow he will now be training hard to chase schools medals this summer.
