LIKE Chloe Geoghegan (Review, January 1), I’m also appalled at the litter problem in the Forest.
Campaigns such as Hands Off Our Forest and Frack Off Our Forest might carry more weight and influence with the powers-that-be up in London if every verge, pull-in and forestry track around here wasn’t a filthy litter-strewn tip.
If we couldn’t care less about our environment why should we expect them to?
Oh, and please don’t put the blame on visitors alone – the photo shows the litter my husband and I collected in the autumn on one of our regular walks well off the tourist trail – and I’ve lost count of the number of times we’ve cleaned up that route since.
