LITTLE Eden Greaves, 7, from Monmouth, who goes to Osbaston CIW School, has cooked up a winning treat for the Kingsmill Fun Lunch Recipe Book.
She designed 'Breakfast in my Pocket' which has been professionally created by a food stylist and shortlisted as one of the most creative, imaginative sandwiches entered for the regional competition to earn a place in the publication.
Over 5,500 children took part in the Fun Lunch competition and Eden's recipe is now featured in the recipe book, available to download for free from http://www.kingsmillbread.com">www.kingsmillbread.com now.
Eden's 'Breakfast In My Pocket' sandwich was selected due to its imaginative ingredients; sausage, chestnut mushroom, egg and cress; its creative presentation and how good the judges felt it would taste!
Eden said: "I am really happy that my recipe has been chosen. I love cooked breakfasts and pitta pockets, so I can't wait to show all my friends."
The competition is linked to Kingsmill's official sponsorship of The Big Lunch 2012, which is all about having fun and getting people together to have lunch with family, friends and neighbours.
Judges marked entries according to their creativity, ease of preparation and clarity of recipe.
Nicky Gillett, head of nutrition at Allied Bakeries and a member of the Fun Lunch judging panel, said: "We were so impressed by the very high standard of entries. Some were truly spectacular and Eden's recipe is a great example of the standard that we received. There were so many great entries it was really difficult to pick the top three from each region. It's safe to say that all our mouths were watering when trying to select the winners."
