LONGHOPE's All Saints Church has scooped £181,000 towards repairs from English Heritage and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The grant will go towards repairing the roof and high level masonry and below ground drainage at the building, which dates from the 12th century.
More than £15.5 million has now been pledged to support urgent repair work to 150 Grade I and II listed places of worship across England. The grants were awarded under the organisations' joint Repair Grants for Places of Worship scheme.
The regional grants were announced by Andrew Vines, South West regional director for English Heritage, who said: "Places of worship make a valuable contribution to communities, both urban and rural, and in some cases the local church can be the central focal point of community life.
"In the South West we have a wealth of churches from all faiths which boast a rich heritage. These grants are vital to enable those churches to continue serving this important role in their community and for their historic treasures to be enjoyed by all."
English Heritage and the Heritage Lottery Fund have jointly supported places of worship for more than 10 years and both organisations recognise the importance of enabling much-needed repairs to take place.
