LOVE was in the air at the Forest Church, Drybrook, on Sunday for the church's second Valentine's Service.

With greater numbers wanting to marry at the church, wedding couples past and present were invited to the service.

Mike and Kathy Garland revealed the reasons for being happily married for 40 years and Bryan and Jan Perry told of how they fell in love at first sight and married at Drybrook in autumn 2009.

Nicki Wood and Graham Jones will marry at the church in April and told the congregation about the build up to the wedding and all their excitement.

Last year 18 couples married at the Forest Church and there were a record 33 weddings in the Drybrook, Lydbrook and Ruardean benefice.

Drybrook Churchwardens Mike Garland and John Pillans said: "We are delighted to be bucking the national decline in numbers of church weddings.

"Couples who marry here can even book our fabulous redecorated hall just ten paces from the church porch for their reception at really competitive rates!"
