FOREST MP Mark Harper has welcomed Longhope-based Hillside Brewery to Parliament where one of their beers has gone on sale.
The brewery, run by the Williamson family, have their 'Pinnacle' ale, a golden pale ale, in Parliament's Strangers' Bar - where MPs and their guests will be able to sample and purchase the ale this week.
Hillside Brewery's director Paul Williamson, who was in attendance, has previously welcomed Mr Harper to visit their site in Longhope and to see how they use local expertise to create a range of beers.
Mr Harper said: "It was a pleasure to welcome Hillside Brewery to Parliament and to be the first to pull a pint of their brilliant 'Pinnacle' ale. I very much enjoyed my visit to the Brewery in the summer – so much so that I went back to their Open Day!
"I am pleased to hear that this local family-run business continues to thrive, and welcoming their 'Pinnacle' ale to Parliament today was the perfect opportunity to catch up on how their business is progressing. I hope that the chance to serve their ale in one of the country's most historic bars has given Hillside a unique opportunity to showcase their great product."
