A THIEF stole a pack of beer and sweets from an unlocked parked car around the same time that three hooded and masked men were captured nearby on CCTV trying car doors.

The theft happened between 3pm, on Sunday, February 17, and 11.30am next day in First Avenue, Greytree, Ross-on-Wye.

The trio were spotted on CCTV in the Greytree area at 4am on the Monday (February 18).

A West Mercia Police spokesman urged motorists to “remain vigilant, do not keep valuables in your vehicles and always ensure they are locked, as well as your home.”

The offender who entered the unlocked car searched the vehicle before stealing the items and making off leaving the car door ajar.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote reference number 0260s 180219 for the theft and 112s 180219 for the other incident.

Police are also trying to trace a Ford Transit 260 van registration VN62 EYH stolen from the town’s Waterside-Alton Road junction overnight between Tuesday, February 5, and Wednesday, February 6.
