A MASS charity motorcycle ride is being organised in memory of motorcyclist Richard "Titch" Parr who died in June in an accident on the A48 at Blakeney.

Money collected on the £5 a head run, which starts from the Enterprise Centre, Valley Road, Cinderford at around 11am on Sunday, September 10, will be going to air ambulance funds.

"Although the air ambulance was unable to save Titch it was his family's wish that donations at his funeral were made to raise £3,000 to purchase a vital pulse oximeter in his memory," said organiser Vanessa Allen of Dean Motorcycle Training.

"With the help of the Greyhound pub at Pope's Hill, where there will be a post ride barbecue, we are hoping that 400 bikers and supporters will exceed the target amount."

Raffles and other prize events will also be held on the day, with many of the prizes donated by local businesses, and at the start there will be a burger van serving breakfasts.

Mrs Allen urged everyone with an interest in motorcycles to make their way to the start or the finish to join in the fun, or if they had a bike to join the planned 150-mile ride.

"Let's make it a day that Titch would have been really proud of," she added.
