FOREST businessman Mike Dowler is throwing a massive millennium party - but if you are over 12 you won't be there!
The owner of the well known Eskimarket store at Coalway has hired Little Follies, the children's adventure centre near Coleford, for the afternoon of January 2, 2000.
It will be all jam and jumps for 150 kids aged between 4 and 12 - and Mike hopes it will be a day they remember for years to come.
"Perhaps one day in the future someone will ask one of them what they did for the millennium and they might recall the party. Eskimarket and me will be long gone by then so I want to make it something they will remember," he said.
Mike has asked for a small donation from the children who are mostly the offspring of his customers.
"We have added another £700 and that has enabled us to give a cheque for £1,000 to The Great Oaks Hospice Appeal. I can't think of a better cause and if we can have a bit of fun in the process so much the better," he said.
