I recently wrote to you about the pleasures of leisure though I realise that what people want now is paid work.

There are plenty of jobs that could be done: repairing roads, setting up wind turbines, harnessing the power of the tides, house insulation, improving services rather than cutting them.  I'm sure you can think of other jobs that need to be done.

As I mentioned many times before, the money for all this could be acquired through a tax on currency speculation which, at a mere quarter per cent, would earn $250 billions a year worldwide according to the Nobel Prize winning economist, James Tobin.  This is now called the Robin Hood tax, which I've mentioned before.

We need a more enterprising government.
