A MOTHER’S prayers were answered after she learnt that her 22-year-old missing son was safe and well after two weeks without any contact.

Young father Joshua Mcleod from Monmouth hadn’t been seen since leaving his home around 10pm on Thursday, August 17, sparking a missing person appeal from his mum and the police.

And after pleading with him to get in touch on her Facebook page, Sally Mcleod-Harry announced last Thursday afternoon (August 31) that someone had phoned her to say he was safe in Newport.

She posted: "Information just received, I’ve had a phone call, Josh is safe and well and in the Newport area. He didn’t phone me himself. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the messages of support."

She had earlier urged him to get in touch, posting: "Please Josh just make contact and let us know you are okay. We all love you and really miss you. Your little boy is missing you and wants his daddy home and I want my son home."

She added: "He’s not in trouble, but the police are involved in looking for him. He is 6ft 3 and 22… he could be anywhere, but we’re thinking Ross, Hereford or Newport areas. I just want him found and that he’s okay.

"Please keep your eyes out for him."
