THE Forest was alive over the weekend with shouts of "mush!" and the baying of dog teams more appropriate for Alaska than the Dean.

Dog sled racing teams from across the country took part in the Wyedean Quest, based over three days and four trails, one of the toughest dryland races in the UK and now in its fourth year. Alongside, some Canicross events were also run.

The trails were a mix of hard pack gravel, grass, dirt, some hills, hairpins and lots of turns – something for everyone, said the organisers. The meetings took place at Mallards Pike on Friday, Staple Edge and Speech House on Saturday and Mallards Pike on Sunday.
