THE Gloucestershire branch of the Royal Society of St George wishes
to recognise the many youngsters in Gloucestershire who are ‘unsung heroes’.
We are now seeking nominations of youngsters under the age of 18 and living in Gloucestershire who have demonstrated determination, courage and selflessness as epitomised by Captain Nairac GC, in whose memory these awards are named.
The awards are given annually during the branch’s St George’s-tide service in Gloucester Cathedral.
On April 24 they will be once again presented by Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant for Gloucestershire, Dame Janet Trotter, who is also our branch patron.
Two awards are presented: one to an individual and the other to a group of young people.
The winners receive a silver salver to hold for a year, a framed certificate to keep and a cheque for their chosen charity.
Those wishing to put forward a youngster or group of youngsters for the 2017 awards should send names and contact details of the nominees, with their reason for nomination by no later than March 1 to: Mrs Margaret Fuller, Gloucestershire branch of the Royal Society of St George, Woodborough, Mopla Road, Tutshill, NP16 7PS or e-mail [email protected].
– Margaret Fuller, Tutshill.
