LYDNEY anglers gathered for their annual junior and senior club awards ceremony following a successful year which has seen the junior section grow and the club's main fishery – Lydney Lake – fish well.
Club chairman and this year's club champion, Paul Grindle, said: "It was our annual junior and senior presentation evening at the Royal British Legion in Lydney marking a good year for us.
"We've had a good turn-out in the junior section who fished throughout the summer – we meet up every Wednesday from the end of May to the end of August.
"Lydney Lake, our main fishing ground did well. It has a good head of bream which the competition anglers go for because you can build up a good weight quite quickly."
