SIX months ago I wrote expressing my concern about Lydbrook Recreation Ground, the retaining wall and footpath to the well. I know the well has now disappeared but the path is still part of Lydbrook's heritage, an access to maintain the wall, or just to collect the football. The wall is still lacking its original height and the football pitch is short.

Can I point out that the wall, football pitch and right of way has belonged to Lydbrook for over 70 years and has always been open to the public. The path is not on sale or loan, it's public.

Let the appropriate parties finish the wall so the children and footballers of Lydbrook can enjoy this very essential village asset. – D. Smith, a regular user, Cinderford.
