COULD I please add some clarity to Mr Phelps letter published last week with regard to the opposition to the Northern Quarter?
UKIP is of the opinion that the Northern Quarter Development as proposed is flawed and taking far too long to come to fruition but does recognise the essential need to keep Gloucester College within the Forest of Dean and for a bypass around Steam Mills which is an extremely dangerous bottleneck.
In addition there is a requirement, in an area promoted for tourism, for a hotel/motel capable of accommodating coach parties.
UKIP has previously expressed its concerns to the district council leader but is not surprised that it has not received the courtesy of a reply.
Finally could I please thank all those who have contacted our office and apologise for not contacting two of those who rang as unfortunately they did not leave a telephone number?
If they would like to ring again I will do my best to answer their queries.
– Colin Guyton, Secretary, UKIP Forest of Dean, Ruardean.
