I WOULD like to thank the Review for the interesting coverage regarding the Northern pit closure.
However, I was slightly disappointed that Neil Jones, a freeminer of Hawsley, wasn’t mentioned.
Without him, the blowing of the Northern hooter would not have been possible.
Neil did an awful of running about, welding a standing and hiring a compressor from Maddocks of Coleford which they loaned free of charge.
I wanted to thank Neil and Maddocks in helping to make it a successful day.
