IT seems the saga of the car parking charges goes on and on, so can I bring to the attention of district councillors a further point?
I see no mention of car parking charges at the Taj Mahal. The car park at the card operated barrier entrance – which one can assume is exclusive to council employees – and the one at the rear of the offices from which there is also access to the office, would appear to be exempted from charge. Very nice if you can get it.
I would like to ask if council staff pay for this privilege or is there a law for one and another law for another?
Who maintains the car parks? Aren't they publicly owned?
I would suggest users should pay at least in line with with the costs imposed at other car parks and that they should also be available to the public.
