THE latest weapon in the war on litter has been unveiled – the trashconverter van.
The van is on a two-week tour of the Forest offering rewards in exchange for litter including fresh flowers, popcorn and hot drinks.
The tour will include a community event on Saturday (May 20) at the Wenchford picnic site near Blakeney with family-friendly activities between 12pm and 4pm.
An installation featuring 100 replica flowers by Michelle Reader and made entirely from litter will also be on display.
The trashconverter is part of a campaign by environmental charity Hubbub which is supported by Lucozade Ribena Suntory, the Forest Council, Foresters’ Forest, Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Tourism and the Forestry Commission.
The full trashconverter schedule can be found at www.hubbub.org.uk/trashconverter.
