FOREST police are investigating several reports of a man dressed in a bright blue skin-tight rubber suit 'acting suspiciously' in Longhope and May Hill.

People reported sightings of the man, whose face was also painted blue, twice during Saturday June 2 and once on Sunday May 20. Police say they are concerned that he may have been following women in the area and are keen to speak to him to establish his motives.

One witness said he looked "like a Smurf" and apparently he was seen waving at women and doing star jumps while running up to them.

One reader questioned by the Review, who did not want to be named, said: "Why would the police think this is odd behaviour for Longhope?", while another suggested a flying saucer might be visiting the area and the man was an alien trying to communicate with earthlings, recognising the Forest as an important centre of civilisation.

Police are taking the incident seriously and urging the man or anyone with information about the incidents to call 101, quoting incident 192 of June 2.
