THE Forest of Dean Children's Opportunity Centre has been chosen to host the UK's first 'Sing and Grow' music therapy programme.
Sing and Grow was first founded in Australia and funded by the government. Through music the programme aims to help children develop a skills in a fun and engaging way.
As part of what will be a 10 week programme involving Daniel Thomas, a music therapist, parents and carers work alongside their children exploring hands-on musical activities that assist children with development skills.
Centre Manager, Marilyn Smith, said "I am thrilled that we have been chosen as the first 'project' within the country to run 'Sing & Grow' programme. It will be a valuable and exciting addition to the services we provide at the Centre."
