THIS is a quick HOOF response to Mr Harper's article in a recent Review.

'We understood that this Government was about 'bottom up', not 'top down imposition' from Westminster.

'Yet not only does the government  plan to remove the 1981 Act protecting Dean Forest, it is now going to tell us about a White Paper on the forestry proposals without any prior consultation in drawing them up.

'It is high time that Government realised it should be serving the people. Have politicians still not learnt the lessons from the expenses scandal – that they are out of touch with their electors?'
