FIRST and foremost the biggest thank-you must be to our solicitor barrister, the superb Tracey Ashford of Rowbis Solicitors of Gloucester, and Ewan Paton of the Guildhall Chambers in Bristol. They have been just wonderful in support for us throughout this.

TRH employed London solicitors and a barrister but our first class local legal team certainly proved to be "simply the best" in delivering good old British justice.

We give our special thanks to Derek and Pat Drew and Jennie Green and Stan Harris, our very good friends and neighbours, for being there every step of the way with us and never wavering in their support.

Thank-you to all our friends and neighbours and everyone else who contributed to our defence. Thank-you also to those who gave their time so generously in raising and collecting the money for our defence. A big thank-you to Carole Tilling and Harold Ennis of the Fighting Fund who stayed with us right to the end.

They are real troupers whose support never wavered.

Thank-you to the Review for printing everyones letters on the grass cutting issue over the last three-and-a-half years. We all look to the Review for all our local news and updates on the things that are of concern to us in the Forest. It is also very important for people to be able to voice those concerns, so again, thank you to the Review.

Just for clarification, TRH took us to court for "a declaration that the claimant is entitled to recover from the defendants certain maintenance costs in respect to "estate land" persuant to paragraph 1 of the Fifth Schedule of their conveyance, and they stated:?"It is contended that there is one issue before the Court namely:?"Whether on a true construction of paragraph 1 of the Fifth Schedule, the Claimant is entitled to recover the sum charged for the service provided."

His Honour Judge McCahill Q.C. delivered his judgement on Friday, October 21, when he dismissed TRH claim.

Might we add that neither David Garnet and Garry King were in court during the trial. If they had been there they would have heard what Judge McCahill actually said.

Mark Harper, our elected MP, worked very closely with Garry King from February 2008 with regard to service charges. However, it still beggars belief that this issue was allowed to run for three and a half years. Surely with the answer we have now the legaility of TRH claim could have been found out in the beginning somewhere in the mighty corridors of power in the Palace of Westminister.
