FOUR Forest friends successfully completed a bike ride from Lydney to Buckingham Palace and back in 21 hours.
Angus Holland, Colin Tipper, Mark Knox and Rob Lester took on the 270-mile challenge and raised more than £3,500 for Relay for Life Cancer Research UK.
The guys – who go under the name of Broke Bike Cyclists – cycled from the Relay opening ceremony to Buckingham Palace in London and were supported by drivers Jeremy Holland and Darren Rowles.
Angus said: "We all rode to Chepstow and then it was two on two off and we'd swap after about 30 miles. It was relatively trouble-free – we had no mechanicals, not even a puncture.
"People have been very generous – we came in late and we went to companies who have been very generous in their support."
The Winged Wonders team also raised £11,200 for the charity – just over £2,000 more than last year.
•Last week we referred to the Broke Bike Cyclists by an incorrect name. For this we apologise for any embarrassment or inconvenience caused.
