WHAT is the matter with Cinderford Co-op? Why are they trying to keep all competition away from the town? They say they are for the people – balderdash!

I have been a member for over 50 years and as far as I am concerned their reputation as a caring society has gone down like a lead balloon.

Years ago we had a good dividend. What is it now – for every £1 you spend you get the huge sum of one pence. Think about it!

Their food is not cheap and their half price sales are laughable.

What has the Co-op to fear or hide? After all, Asda is not going to be built on their doorstep. Greed is a very bad reason to penalise people from shopping where they want to, and dictatorship is even worse.

Face up to it, Co-op. The truth is you have grown too big for your boots and one day the people of Cinderford will wake up to it, and those who have to shop here will give you a nasty shock.

This little town of ours was once a very busy thriving place. You are strangling it.

You are like greedy children. You can't grab enough of anything, you already have three shops here.

Let the people of Cinderford decide for themselves who they want to come here.
