REFERRING to the two letters in the Review of August 26 about badly parked cars, I would like to add what I have seen in Chepstow. As a taxi driver I have noticed a few things.

There is an industrial estate at the end of Grahamstown Road, Sedbury and it is necessary for juggernauts to traverse Grahamstown Road in order to reach two of the businesses, Alan Fuller and Severn Engineering.

Despite the fact residents will be aware of the industrial estate and the need for juggernauts to traverse Grahamstown Road, they will park on both sides of the road for no good reason.

Likewise, they do the same in King Alfred’s Road despite the fact that buses traverse that street. At least people seem to have more sense in Burnt Barn Road and Western Avenue in Bulwark.

I have noticed people in Bank Street, Chepstow putting two wheels on the pavement meaning cars have to go two wheels over the other pavement and meaning pedestrians have to move out of the way.

I have also noticed people parking in the Tesco bus stop simply because people cannot be bothered to drive into the car park.

I am starting to wonder whether Germans are better than us simply because they have more commonsense.
