PRIMARY school pupils are delivering a strong message about inconsiderate and dangerous parking near their school.
Youngsters at Littledean Church of England Primary School have taken part in a poster competition promoting safe road crossing.
And the top six selected designs will be printed and displayed in businesses around the village to urge drivers to be more considerate. The competition was the result of concerns from residents over vehicle owners parking on the zebra crossing in Littledean.
A road safety campaign was set up by the Forest of Dean Speed Liaison Group, which includes Forest of Dean Council officers, and children were asked to design colourful attention-grabbing posters informing vehicle owners not to park on the zig zag lines so they can walk to school safely.
Headteacher Hayley McGoldrick said: “We work hard with the children to help them to understand how important road safety is.
“It has been exciting for them to be able to be pro-active and creative in helping to make the crossing in Littledean safer for them and their families to use.”
