A PUPIL at Monmouth Comprehensive School was injured in an incident at the town's leisure centre yesterday.
The Review understands that a boy was taken to hospital by air ambulance after a wall collapsed.
Monmouthshire Council confirmed that a pupil was injured but said it would be "inappropriate" to comment further.
The incident will now be investigated by the Health and Safety Executive.
A council spokeswoman said: "We are able to confirm that a Monmouth Comprehensive School student was injured today (Tuesday) in an accident at Monmouth Leisure Centre.
"The accident took place in a changing room prior to a games lesson. The pupil has been taken to hospital.
"The Health & Safety Executive has been informed and will lead on any response to the accident.
"In the meantime, our thoughts are with the injured student and their family.
"It would be inappropriate to comment further at present."
