IT truly was weather for the ducks at this year’s annual Blakeney Duck Race and Fete.

Torrential rain in the morning moved to leave sunshine which attracted a record number of people to the playing fields.

Vice-chairman, Glynn Bullock said: “It was a fantastic day with the sun bringing out a record crowd made up of predominately locals and a few holiday makers in the area.

“We ran 21 races at 30 ducks per race and the finale was a duck grand national containing 570 ducks racing over an extended course.  After a strongly fought contest the winners were in first place, Jason Willets of Yorkley, in second Jayne Sargent of Lydney, and in third place Angela Howell. We raised in total around £4,000.”
