POLICE officers in Newent are appealing for information after a racially aggravated incident.

A sign displaying the Turkish flag in Church Street was vandalised with an offensive and crude image being stuck over the top of it. The sign requires being replaced.

It is believed to have happened between 9am and 6pm on Friday, May 6.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident 116 of May 7.
