IN JANUARY this year we reported how young Forest cyclist Jack Reed kept in trim by cycling round Ellwood and Milkwall to deliver the Review.

Jack, 16, has had a great season in mainly senior men's races, taking on some of the country's top cyclists.

He finished ninth in the Youth National rankings which means he will start next year as a junior

with a  category 2 licence, which dad Chris says is a fantastic achievement.

Perhaps best of all, his manager is moving up a level next season and taking Jack with him.  He will ride with the under-23 team in this  country until he is a senior, but  next year he will be entered into two junior stage races, the junior tours  of Wales and Ireland.

After being sponsored by Qoroz Titanium bikes for three years, the successful under-23 team has formed a partnership with Elite French-American based squad, Equipe CMI – a strong pan-European set-up that will undertake an extensive and exciting race calendar including stage races and a full UK programme.

Team manager David Walters said: "The partnership with CMI will allow the young riders from the UK to develop their skills and understanding of what it takes to succeed in the sport alongside experienced and high quality European teammates, in a wide-ranging race calendar."

The riders for the CMI development squad for 2012 are Luke Dunbar, Todd Hotchkiss, Al Murison, Conor Ryan and Jack.

"As you can see this is another step forward for Jack in his dream of becoming a Pro cyclist," says his dad.
