RESURFACING work on Beachley Road in Sedbury takes place from tomorrow (Thursday).

To minimise traffic disruption, Gloucestershire County Council says the old surface road will be removed and re-laid during the school half-term and is expected to complete by next Friday (October 28).

The road between the roundabout and the junction to Ormerod Road will be closed to traffic each weekday from 7.30am until 5.30pm. Outside of these hours, and at the weekend, the road will be open as usual.

A diversion will be in place via the A48 and Sedbury lane. Access will be maintained for pedestrians and emergency vehicles and businesses will be open as usual.

Cllr Patrick Molyneux, local county councillor for Sedbury, added: "I’m pleased that the county council has decided to resurface the road in Sedbury, and very pleased that the work will take place over the half term to there won’t be any disruption for the school."
