WINDOW renovator Robert Wood has just celebrated 10 years helping to preserve historic Forest of Dean and Wye Valley properties.

From Ross-on-Wye, he has worked for local company Ventrolla since 2001.

Robert, aged 30, joined Ventrolla as a 20-year-old trainee keen to become an expert in wood craft and has since gained a City and Guilds certificate and NVQ level 2 in wood related skills.

He said: "Since joining the company as a trainee, I have only worked for Ventrolla and have enjoyed every minute of it.

"My enjoyment stems from the variety of work I get involved in. From Edwardian terraced houses to grand Georgian country mansions, every project offers a new challenge.

"I've even found myself working on a property where an old druid temple was discovered in the cellar.

"Ventrolla has helped me to expand my craft and I'm grateful for their support and encouragement. I look forward to another great 10 years."

Geoff Walsh, owner of Ventrolla Hereford, Worcester and South Wales, rewarded Robert for his commitment with an all expenses paid theatre trip to London with his wife.

He said: "Robert is a model employee, always doing a good job and ensuring that we maintain a satisfied and happy customer base.

"In our line of work we are dependent on ongoing customer satisfaction and Robert's efforts over the years have ensured that a very large proportion of our new business comes via recommendations from past customers."
