A TEAM behind a project aiming to return the old skills of boat-building and rowing to Severnside want Review readers to design a logo for their new boat.
Volunteers involved in the Lydney skiff project are actively fund-raising to build a skiff as a community project.
Sue Llewellyn says competition judges are particularly looking for a logo that reflects:
The St Ayles Skiff rowing boat
Skiff rowing and building
The local area (Forest and/or Lydney and /or the river Severn)
She said: "If you feel you would like the challenge, you can design a logo using any medium including drawing, painting, collage or computer.
"We hope that this competition will help generate community ’ownership’ of the project and get people involved. The winning logo will not only be used in promotional material but on the actual community boat which we are in the process of raising money for. All entries will be publically displayed.
"The committee is looking to find somewhere to build the boat and would greatly appreciate any leads on who can help."
Entries must be sent to [email protected] by September 7.
