Ruardean’s delight at finding (Mc)Fly in the ointment!

ANCIENT and modern have come together at Ruardean to raise funds for repairs to the glorious parish church.

Local people have to generate around £170,000 to carry out essential work to the tower and help has come from an unexpected quarter – the famous pop rock band McFly.

The group has given a local woman a CD and a DVD and both have now been handed on to the restoration appeal.

Treasurer David Sollars told the Review: " We are very pleased. The items have been signed and already there is a lot of interest. One excellent offer has already been made for them but we are open to more."
