THERE was a pass rugby player Adam Thomas couldn't afford to drop on Saturday – his baby daughter Willow!
Rushing back to his Parkend Road home after playing rugby for Bream, Adam arrived in time to deliver his daughter.
"He was brilliant and as calm as you like. It really was a case of very safe hands," said mum Marie.
"Adam arrived back from rugby at 4.45pm and a quarter of an hour later my waters broke," said Marie.
"We had always planned a home birth as my other children had arrived quickly. We telephoned for the midwife but she had to come from some distance away so Adam stepped in."
Full of praise for Adam's attentive and cool approach, Marie successfully gave birth to Willow – who weighed in at 9lbs 6ozs – at 6.08pm.
"I was sat up and having a cuddle when the midwife arrived at 6.35pm," said Marie.
Willow is a sister for Billy, aged nine, and Loki, aged two, and both are excited and delighted at the new addition to the family.
"It's a massive coincidence as when I was born I was delivered by my dad," said Marie.
